Travel Tips
Before you leave
- Prepare your trip by reading a good guidebook about your destination. The more you know about a country and its people, culture and nature, the more you can enjoy and appreciate it once you are there.
- Make sure you are mentally and physically fit for the tour. Did you receive all necessary vaccinations? See our Health page for more information regarding health before and during the tour and what to take in your first aid kit.
- Check that you have all necessary documents: passport, visa, travel insurance, air tickets, etc. Make copies of all important documents and keep the copies separate from the originals.
- Payments during the travel: a combination of credit card/atm card, traveler's cheques and cash money in US$ or in Euro is the most practical and safe solution.
- Please do not forget pocket knife, travel alarm clock, sun glasses, sun lotion, flashlight, mosquito milk or spray, tampons and contraceptives.
- Check your camera, memory cards, lenses, batteries or charger
- Clothing : take light cotton (or other natural fibers) clothing with you, also a pullover for in the bus or in the evening. A light jacket is also handy. A raincoat or umbrella in the rainy season. A hat for protection against the sun.
- Shoes : sandals or slippers for the traveling days are handy, especially if we have to take out our shoes when visiting houses or temples. Good walking shoes for the walking days.

During the Tour
- Always take an address card from the hotel with you and also a flash lamp (torch) in the evening.
- The prices of drinks in some establishments are "expensive" but cheap compared to western standards.
- Pickpockets: Be aware that at busy places like markets and train stations pickpockets can be active. Keep an eye on your bag.
- Important things like passport, money, air tickets, etc. deposit these in the safe of the hotel. Also do not leave them unattended behind in our bus.
- Report any complaints immediately, we can not changes things from yesterday anymore.
- If we eat à la carte with the group then we have to wait for a long time ( 2 to 3 hours ).
- The rooms in the various hotels are different!!! (Keep smiling!!).
- Check out on time, check the room, the bathroom and the safe so that you do not forget anything.
- Be on time. Go during the break or lunch to the restroom, not if we have to leave.
- Apart from the driver, guide and tour leader nobody has a "fixed" seat in the bus, we change seats every day.
- It can be cold in the bus, take a pullover or jacket with you. Smoking is not allowed in the bus.
- Take toilet paper with you for on the way, this is not always present in restrooms.
- At arrival check the mini bar on your hotel room. Complaints later are not possible; everything what not in the mini bar present is, has to be paid by you, if not earlier reported. Pay the bill at the reception if you did make use of the mini bar.
- If you telephone from the hotel to your home country, we advice you to inform beforehand at the reception about the tariff (about the payable Service Charge and the minimum charged amount of minutes).
- Make sure that you have enough small change with you in order to pay for your drinks and other small purchases. Upcountry it is often difficult to pay with large bills!
We wish you a wonderful tour!
